Dusk had come again and Bekka was doing her normal routine, checking her small and dingy home making sure it’s secure, then checking the perimeter. Everything seemed fine now but when the night took over anything can happen. Inside her home she lock and barred the door and made sure all the windows where boarded. She didn’t want to rouse any attention, so by making it look empty was her best bet, it had worked so far. With everything boarded up and locked she sat down on the broken bed and hugged the make shift dagger that she had created close to her chest. Just in case.
Many things whirled through her mind as she sat there listening to the silence. She had to softly speak to herself so that she didn’t grow too paranoid in the quietness. When things grew to quiet, she heard things that weren’t there and sometimes even saw things that weren’t there. She was a little crazy. But being alone for so long seeing the things that she had seen you would be a little crazy too. She would never admit that she had something wrong, in her own mind this was how everyone acted. Sitting on a broken bed clutching a blunt dagger talking to yourself. Anything to make her feel safe.
But tonight was the night that things went bad. Tonight was the night that she was driven from her home from her safe zone. She didn’t even see it coming as she was too wrapped up in her own thoughts to realise what was going on. But don’t worry she made it out okay. But she was damned to be just that little bit loonier then before. Once feeling that her home was the safest place on the planet and nothing could touch her there. Now after what happened she doesn’t know what it safe. She just wanted to be alone and no bothered by anything. Now she was running, running from what?
She was sitting there on her bed have a good old conversation with herself when she heard laughter. Frowning from disbelief she got up from her bed and walked towards the window. Quietly she pulled back on of the boards and peered out into the distance. In the darkness she saw a few bodies running away from her home laughing and speaking so fast that she couldn’t understand what they were saying. All she caught was “Old house” “burnt it down a long time ago”. Burnt it down? What did that mean? Then she smelt it, smoke. She turned away from the window and seen that it was in the room.
They had set her home on fire, unaware that she lived in it. Panic took over her now and she didn’t know what to do. She grabbed her back pack that was fully of canned food, she slipped her dagger into her belt and kicked out the window. Wood and glass going everywhere. She climbed out the window and jumped onto the dead grass, she landed on her stomach. She rolled over and crawled away from the burning house, tears filled her eyes and splashed down onto her dirty cheeks. She watched the only place she felt safe, the only place that sheltered her from the creatures.
Getting to her feet she ran, she didn’t know where she was running to and she didn’t really care she had truly lost everything now. And she didn’t care what happened to her now. She was tired of trying when everything just failed anyway. She ran and the wind stung her eyes and her cheeks hurt from the wind, as they were wet from the tears she cried. She ran on, ignoring the pain in her legs and her chest. She just wanted to be free. Free from pain, free from fear was that too much to ask? Anger now grew in her body and she gritted her teeth together as she ran. There was no one around.
Finally after what seemed like hours of running she slowed down and she took a deep breath in. It stung her sore and raw throat. She grunted back the pain. She hadn’t even realised where she had ran too until now. She looked around at everything as she slowed right down into a walk. Was that a roller coaster? It once was a roller coaster. She was in a theme park, a very old busted up theme park. This sparked an idea in her mind; there would be plenty of places to hide here. There would be plenty of nooks and crannies that she could squeeze into.
She wasn’t sure what sort of creatures that lurked in here, so she stuck to the shadows, looking out into the light that was provided by the moon. From the shadows she could see things that moved around and this that made noises. Everything was going to be alright she told herself over and over. She was going to be just fine. She stopped in the shadows and lent against a broken roller coaster and got her breath back. Her legs and chest were killing her. She just wanted to sleep, but she knew that it was impossible. Even if she did lie down to sleep her body wouldn’t let it come. She was in a strange place she didn’t know this place; she had to be on her guard all the time anything might pop out and get her.
The park was silent and nothing stirred. It was quiet and she needed to speak to herself to calm her nerves but she was too scared that she would make too much noise if she spoke. She slid down to the grown and placed her head on her knees and more tears flowed out of her eyes staining her dirty cheeks. She just wanted to see her brother one more time, have him tell her that everything was going to be alright. She would believe him.

Her boots made no sound on the ground as she walked. One great gift she had from the vampiric blood running through her veins was that she could be quiet, silent if she wanted. That was just one of the gifts along with the curse of it all. Better than being a full vampire but still a huge pain in the ass. Cracking her neck side to side she sighed making sure her hood was pulled well over her hair and almost covering her eyes. There had been to much excitement in her life recently. To much that she didn’t want to deal with at the moment, going on almost twenty-four hours being up without a break was making her irritable.
Aida could also feel the blood trickling down her arm from the last scuffle. The vampires were insane in this area. Either that or Pittsburgh was drawing in outsiders. No matter what the weak who attacked or thought to taste her blood got what they deserved. Most were so insane their was no spark of humanity left in them. Aida had no issues with killing them, or killing in general anymore. It was like a second nature, it was what she did, the only thing she really knew how to do, yet still attempt to make a small difference in this god forsaken world.
Placing her one hand under her cloak she hissed as she put pressure on the cut. “Son of A ….” she cursed under her breath. Lifting her eyes she glanced around where she was at. Normally Aida would have made her way towards the outskirts of the city or go further. There were a few spots that she liked to hide. Never did she stay in those places long, enough to heal or rest then off she was. It was to dangerous to stay in one place. There was one place she trusted and felt safe at but it was across the city.
Crossing one leg over the other she looked over her shoulder before pausing. The city was very quiet, more quiet then she liked to hear it. Seeing what was left of the old amusement park she kept pressure on her wound and quickly stepped on the old fallen down fence as she wanted to get out of the street, away from eyes that might want to try something with her. The strong scent of blood in the air wasn’t going to help her at all. She would find a place hidden enough for her to start a fire and close up the wound on her arm. What was one more scar? They faded quickly enough anyhow.
Walking quickly down the one beat up, hardly noticeable path she paused when she heard the light sound of sobbing. It would have not been noticeable to her if she was human but she wasn’t. Taking a few more steps forward, Aida thought of ignoring the sound but with her leaving a delicious scent trail to anyone dumb enough to follow she couldn’t’ just leave someone out here to possibly be picked off. Sighing she turned around and listened to the sound. A few vampires had tried to use tricks of being an injured or scared human to lure others in. Aida wasn’t going to be taking any chances. Leaving her staff tied to pack she pulled out her one throwing knife.
Her bloody fingers curled around the hilt as she stopped a fair distance away from one old rollercoaster car. “Its not safe here” she said in a hushed tone towards the car. Not wanting to startle anyone who could attack her on accident she adjusted her grip on the knife, side stepping she moved so that the person hiding would be able to see her. Shaking the hood off her head she was letting his person see who she was.

It was so cold out here; it was so quiet and unnerving. She hated silence; she hated everything that could allow her to be attacked. She had made a perfect routine where she was living and someone or something whatever it was had to go and mess it up. She could feel that familiar angry feeling growing inside of her now. She just wanted to hurt the ones that had destroyed her home. How dare them. All the while thinking these thoughts she had let her sobbing grow a little louder then she had wanted it to be. Tears still flowing down her face.
She didn’t want to be scared anymore. She just wanted to be safe and loved. It was never going to happen again. No one would love her now she was filthy and pitiful. Maybe she should have just stayed in the house as it burned and then she would be with her family again and she could have told her father how god damn crazy he was for doing what he did, but at least they would be together again. She wrapped her coat round her tightly and let the tears and sobs flow.
She didn’t care anymore, she just wanted to be rid of the voices in her head and she just wanted to be free of the shadows that followed her. Was it just too much to ask? Maybe all she needed was a friend. But that thought and knowing that it probably would never happen caused her to sob some more. Did anyone hear her crying? Even if they did she was not in the mood to be messed with and she wouldn’t go down without a fight. She would fling her arms and kick her legs if she was to be attacked, she would show them just how crazy she was.
She couldn’t cry anymore, her eyes were dry and they stung like buggery but she couldn’t help the sobs from leaving her lips. Curse this place and curse the evil that inhabited it. This was one crazy human that wasn’t going to be taken down easily. It was then a voice that struck her ears and her sobs where cut short in her throat. She peered out through the darkness and saw a figure. Bekka clutched the make-shift dagger in her hand as she waited a few seconds, to focus.
She then stood up very slowly and swallowed the lump in her throat and stepped out of the darkness and into the light that moon was creating across the ground. She looked at the woman before her and frowned. She looked tough and a little scary. She spoke of this place not being safe. “What place around here is” she said her voice soft and there was no hint of sarcasm in her words. They were the honest truth, she thought that her home was safe and how wrong was she about that.
Bekka couldn’t really tell if this woman was trying to be nice or just trying to trick her. You couldn’t trust anyone anymore and she wasn’t sure if she should be so nice to her. Blast this not being able to tell if this person was human or not. Bekka had a funny feeling that she wasn’t exactly human. “But if you do know of a place that is, I’m not going to pass up the offer” She said, she really was crazy, she was scared to death that this woman could kill her in a second but she still made it obvious that she wanted to be safe.

Aida waited as the person in the shadows let herself be known. Standing there she felt the few drops of blood drip off her fingertips as she kept the cloak over that arm. No use truly freeing the scent into the air. Then anyone would think a very wounded animal was about and the wolves would be out to play. Such a wonderful overly long day had turned out to be. Aida couldn’t help the rise of her eyebrow when the woman stepped from the shadows. Looking her over completely she shrugged. Appearances meant little or nothing anymore. The one thing that was obvious was the girl, woman wasn’t a fighter. It didn’t mean that she didn’t know how to fight to protect herself, only that she still looked soft. To tender, the wolves would devour one like her.
Putting her knife back in its holster she chuckled at the woman’s remark. Looking back at her she shrugged. “You do have a point but I am making this place not so safe” Aida was admitting a weakness. Was actually trying to help someone that had been hiding. Pulling the cloak from her arm she showed the large gash on her arm. “No where is truly safe but this blood will bring the wolves.” Covering her arm back up she took a few steps closer to the woman, eyed her up and nodded. Thinking to herself, studying her from the way she stood, held herself. Aida admired the bit of fire she held with her tongue. It showed that she wanted to fight to live and just wouldn’t roll over and play dead if the going go to tough.
“I have an idea of a place. Not to far from here but still in the park. There was a building still standing… well for the most part.” Motioning for the woman to follow her she started down a forgotten path towards more of the middle of the park. Moving quickly she forced her boots to make sound so not to draw any unwanted attention and odd questions from the human. Pulling herself up on a large piece of fallen track she offered her hand to the other woman before hoping down on the other side. “I am Aida…” she said as she pointed to the old shed that they were heading to. Looking back at her she adjusted her pack continuing to move to the shed. They got there slowly, having to move over twisted metal, weeds and pieces of old rides and other not so pleasant things.
Stopping at the door she tried the knob, it turned easily and she pushed the door open, having to push and lean into it with the few things that were blocking the entrance. Part of the roof had caved in long ago but that didn’t matter at all. Aida had stayed here before so she had a few supplies if people hadn’t found them. Waiting for the woman to come in she quickly shut the door and pushed the blocks back in front of it. “Make yourself at home…”

Bekka watched the woman as she looked her up and down. I kind of made her a little freaked. Bekka was desperate to know what she was thinking as she did this. God how she didn’t want to be attacked by this woman. What a night she has had. She hated being venerable and she knew for a fact that it was she was being out here. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to run so far away. Maybe she could have hid in the bushes for the night and tried to fix her home in the morning. No that was a stupid idea whatever burnt her house could have been there still waiting for her. Yes running was the best idea. But what know, what of this situation? Jeez she really did think too much.
Relaxing down heaps seeing the woman putting her knife away. She clutched her own for a moment but then placed it in her belt. She really didn’t like the fact that she was unarmed but the woman didn’t seem like she wanted to hurt her. Otherwise she would have done it by know. The woman then spoke about herself making this place unsafe, how would she be doing that? Bekka wondered but did say anything. The woman then pulled back the cloak revealing the gash on her arm and the blood dripping from it. Bekka took a breath in when she seen it and immediately felt as though she need to help her. “You need that looked at” She said as the woman covered it back over again and stepped a little closer to her.
Bekka swallowed the lump in her throat and listened to the woman as she spoke of a place that was safe from the creatures that roamed these parts. Bekka contemplated whether or not to follow her as the woman beckoned her to follow. She watched the woman walk off and quickly made a decision. She jogged to catch up to the woman her hand on the hilt of her makeshift weapon her eyes darting all over the place, in search of anything that might be around. Bekka stopped as the woman climbed up onto a fallen piece of rollercoaster track and took her offered hand. She jumped down on the other side next to the woman. The woman then spoke her name and pointed to the shed; she followed her hand and examined the shed. “My name is Bekka” She said.
Bekka once again followed the woman over all the broken things that blocked their path. She scrunched her nose up and looked away at the dead animal that was on the ground. She hated dead things, made her feel as though she was going to be sick, then the sick feeling turned to fear. Fear that it might all of a sudden spring up and attack her. She fiddled with her sleeve as she waited for the woman to push open the door that was obviously blocked by something. Jeez she was strong! Bekka though to herself, she knew for a fact that she probably wouldn’t be able to push it open. She quickly stepping into the shed once Aida had the door open and looked around the dark room while Aida closed and barricaded the door again.
Aida told her to make herself at home, she had never been in someone else’s home before and she wasn’t really sure on how to be a good house guest. So she just smiled and removed her pack and placed it on the floor. She pulled the dagger out of her belt and placed it on top of the back pack. She then remembered about Aida’s wound and that feeling at thought as though she should do something to help her she turned to the woman. “Would you like me to tend to your arm?”

Aida smirked at the woman’s concern about how her arm looked. Shaking her head she met the other woman’s eyes. “I have had worse, and I am sure in my life this will look like a scratch.” her words were almost boarding on the verge of sounding bored. Shifting the cloak back over her arm she looked around where they were. Taking a few steps closer to the woman she paused. “That is why I am getting out of here and you are more then welcome to follow or stay.” Then Aida offered her the small bit of information that she was going to what was hopefully a safe place still. Or as safe as one could be bleeding and practically leaving a scent trail.
Giving the woman one more good look over she stepped away from her and towards the storage building she had supplies at. Only pausing so beckon the woman forward if she was coming Aida continued to move forward. One couldn’t be to careful anymore. Moving was safer then staying in one spot and letting them group and surround you at once. Aida heard the sound of jogging come up behind her and figured the woman felt it was safer to be with someone then alone. They moved silently, Her eyes never moved off the path in front of her. Stopping at the track she climbed it and smiled when the other woman took her hand. Helping pull her up Aida jumped down the other side.
Her green eyes met the other woman’s as she offered her, her name. It was only fair enough since she offered her shelter as well. Giving Bekka a nod of her head at her name she continued moving them on. They were almost there the building was still standing and was strong. Stepping over carcasses and pieces she didn’t pause but none of them looked extremely fresh. That would be a good thing for the two of them. Then she stepped over other broken and twisted things, mostly metal before pausing at the door. Taking a few moments to push the door open enough for the two of them. Aida waited for Bekka to enter before taking the time push the large cement blocks back up against the door.
Stepping away from the door she told Bekka to make herself comfortable. Untying the cloak from her neck she let to drop to the ground. Placing her pack on the ground beside it Aida moved to the one wall and started to dig around for some supplies to start a fire. Normally she didn’t need anything at all but with the human around she wasn’t about ready to give up her secret so easily, one of the two. Pulling out some old dry pieces of wood and material she made a small spot of the ground and paused when Bekka offered to look at her arm.
“I heal fast, just need to cauterize it is all.” she said before stopping and looking at Bekka. Pulling out a small pack of matches Striking the one she made sure that it lit on the first try the set some of the cloth on fire. Making sure it started she looked at her blood covered arm and grumbled under her breath. The assholes had to use silver. Anything else would have healed by now. Rising slowly she grabbed her bag then sat back by the fire looking to Bekka. “I am not used to having help” she admitted pulling out her one knife. Waiting for the fire to get hotter she twirled it in her fingers then sighed. “If you could help me clean my arm off before I do this will save me the hassle of trying to close it twice.”

Bekka watched the woman but not too closely she didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable with her staring. She paused after she asked Aida if she wanted help with her arm. She hoped that the woman would help her because she had offered her some place to stay, and she was sure to be safe here throughout the night. Aida then replied saying that she healed fast. Bekka sighed and pulled her coat off and placed it on top of the backpack on the floor. She was glad by the fire, even though it was only small she could still felt its warmth and it made her smile as it always made her feel human even when she was sure that the craziness was taking over completely. Aida then spoke again, her words made her smile; everyone needed help once and awhile.
“Neither am I” She said with a smile, it was the true though Bekka hadn’t had any help from anyone since her brother died and now Aida was here helping her by giving her a safe place to stay. It should only be fair that Bekka returned the favour by helping her with her wound somehow. Aida then pulled out her knife and Bekka instantly grew tense as it was a habit of hers when a knife was present and it wasn’t in her hands. She watched Aida place it over the flame and she realised that it was for her wound and she relaxed knowing that she wasn’t in any danger here with Aida. She looked around the room that they were in, it looked sturdy enough not to fall down on them during the night and she hoped that nothing would stumble across them and set the place on fire, like what happened to her home. She was sure that would send her over the edge if she had to escape yet another burning building.
Her attention was snapped back to the situation at hand when Aida asked her to help her clean her wound. She smiled and nodded and walked over to Aida’s side. She looked down at the wound and frowned, she hated it when others were hurt, especially good Samaritans. Even though Aida didn’t seem to be in that much pain, Bekka still felt awful about her wound. She then remembered that she had some water in her pack and walked back around to her pack and retrieved it. It was only water so it probably wouldn’t stop infection but it was good enough for now. Like Aida said she healed fast and hopefully the wound would be healed before infection has a chance to set in. Bekka grabbed the cleanest looking cloth she could find and un screwed the top off the water bottle. She prayed that she did it right and didn’t hurt Aida as she had only ever cleaned her own wounds before. “Are you ready?” She asked Aida wanting the all clear to take hold of Aida’s arm and pour the water on her wound.

Aida nodded her head at Bekka’s reply. Giving the woman a small smile she continued to get things set up that she needed. Happy that this place had not been fully raided by others. She had her hiding spots of things that she needed but most that would want anything would have had a hell of time opening the door, but that didn’t mean it was the only way in. The roof that was partially missing and one other entrance she needed to check before leaving. “It is the way of the world, to take care of one’s self first” she replied softly.
Holding her knife above the fire, Aida made sure that it burned hotter than it should. Not enough to draw attention to herself but enough that she could heat up her blade nicely. What was one more scar in the world that they lived in. Pausing she turned her head to look at the other woman. She had offered her help and the best thing Aida could do was actually take it, make her feel a bit more useful and possibly cleanly close up this wound in one shot, instead of two.
Asking for Bekka’s help Aida watched as the woman grabbed a rag and a bottle of water. Her pale eyes met the other woman’s as she lowered herself down to eye level and took her arm. She had the notion of pulling her arm away, not liking the idea of someone having her arm. Resisting that urge she looked at her blood covered arm and then back to Bekka. “Do it” she replied calmly. The water would sting, possibly burn but it was nothing compared to a few wounds she had received.

Bekka waited for Aida to ready herself, she wasn’t just going to do it with letting her new friend prepare herself first. Bekka wasn’t sure how Aida would react to the water being poured on her wound but she was definitely going to find out. Bekka hated inflicting pain on other, especially people that hadn’t gone anything to harm her. But Bekka knew that the pain was only going to last a little while and after it went away Aida would feel better. Even though Bekka wasn’t really all there after years of what she went through but she still had her common sense. She wasn’t completely dumb to what was happening in the world.
Aida told her to just do it; it was enough for Bekka to know she was ready. Taking hold of Aida’s arm firmly but not restricting, just in case felt the need to pull her arm back without warning Bekka didn’t have to hard of a grip on her and she wouldn’t be in the way. Taking a breath in she tipped the bottle up and the clear liquid slowly ran out and covered the bleeding wound. Quickly she brought the cloth up and wiped away the dirt and blood from the wound. As she lifted the cloth up more blood poured out and she pressed the cloth to the wound. Appling pressure she the bleeding wouldn’t continue.
The last thing Bekka wanted was for Aida to bleed to death that thought sent a shiver up her spine and her whole body twitched. After a few minutes of pressure to the wound she lifted the cloth which was now red from the blood. The wound hadn’t stopped completely but it wasn’t gushing out now. She grabbed a new cloth and poured a bit of water on the cloth first and wiped away the dried blood from around the wound. Bekka wasn’t sure what she should go next. Usually Bekka just sewed herself back up but it looks as though Aida had another idea with the blade she was holding over the fire.
“That’s the best I could get it, it’s clean and the bleeding has slowed, need me to do anything else?” She asked sitting back on her legs a blood stained cloth in one hand and a kind of clean one in the other. What else could she do, she doubted whether Aida was going to let her do whatever it was she had planned to do with the knife. Maybe she would just have to be a spectator from here out.

Aida didn’t like to beat around the bush so to speak, there was nothing to brace herself for. The water would sting, burn and hurt but it was better than having a messy burn on her arm. Telling Bekka to just do it she tried to keep the annoyance out of her voice. These types of wounds just annoyed her to no end, as well as just being hurt and asking for help. Her eyes fell to Bekka’s hand as the other woman gripped her arm tight enough to still her if she would jump. Aida had good self control but she had to give the woman credit for caring enough as well as the strength of her grip. Lifting her eyes at the breath that Bekka took, her eyes never left the other woman’s face as she felt the water touch her wound. Taking a deep breath she grit her teeth but did not jump. Bekka would be able to feel the twitch of her muscles as she fought the natural reflex of pulling away from the pain. Her face was well trained to not show that it hurt even here where she could let her guard down, she didn’t.
Her eyes fell to the wound as the woman placed cloth against the wound. She didn’t flinch or move as she let Bekka continue to tend to the wound. Feeling the other woman twitch a little she arched her eyebrow but kept her mouth shut. Aida almost didn’t want to know what she was thinking about. There could be many things, some pleasant and some not so much. To her it was easier to not know and not get attached. Feeling were weaknesses, especially if you started to really care for others.
As the other woman started to wipe away some of the dried blood that poured down her arm earlier. Twirling the knife in the fire she lifted her eyes to Bekka’s, shaking her head as she pulled the knife from the flames. “No thank you, you have done plenty for me already” Lifting the blade up to her arm she judged where to set it to get the best results before pressing the red hot blade against the wound. There was the only time she truly hissed in pain. Holding the blade there for as long as she could she pulled it away and pressed it to an area she had missed. Breathing a little heavier she studied her arm and waited to see if she missed any area of if she had gotten the whole thing. Happy with the results she placed the knife at her feet and then relaxed.
“What brought you out in the open, or into hiding in the open?” she asked Bekka casually

After asking if Aida needed her to do anything else, she sat there quietly and waited for an answer. Aida then told her that she had done plenty already and that she didn’t need her to do anything else. Bekka smiled and nodded and sat back on her feet and watched her as she lifted the scorching hot blade up out of the fire. Bekka knew that she was going to do with it and the thought of it made her stomach churn. Even thought it was going to be extremely pain full it was worth it as it kills any form of bacteria and it helps to heal the wound.
Bekka didn’t want to watch as Aida placed the blade to her wound but she couldn’t tear her eyes away. When Aida place the blade to her skin, Bekka frowned, and she finally looked away. It was terrible, the smell of the burning flesh and to hear Aida grunting and hissing in pain, ripped her heart apart. She still looked away as Aida made sure she had gotten everything and was finishing up on her arm. Bekka gave her new surrounding a better look while she waited for Aida.
Everything seemed to intact but only just, it was very old and much worn, kind of like the little house that she used to live in. It was beaten up pretty bad but it did a good job of keeping her safe. Soon she heard Aida’s voice in her ears again and she looked back to her. The question was a good enough question and Bekka knew exactly why she was out in the open again. “Where I was living got burnt down and i had to find another place to stay, strange though I was probably safer in the woods” She said and gave Aida a quick smile and looked around herself again.
She then wondered where it was Aida was headed too. Bekka wasn’t sure if it was a secret or something like that but she was going to asked her anyways. “So where are you headed to anyways?” she asked, she didn’t really expect Aida to tell her exactly where she was headed to as, she seemed like the kind of person that didn’t really want her location know to anyone, she has obviously been on her own a longer time just like Bekka. Bekka has been on her own a long time but she still enjoyed company of others, even if they were strangers.
Soon her feet started to go numb from being sat on for so long and she slid her legs out and crossed then out in front of her. It was then the pressure was released the pins and needles came. Bekka hated pins and needles and she wiggled her toes to get the blood flow back. She looked up to Aida with a smirk, “Don’t ya just hate pins and needles” she said and let a little chuckle escape out her lips.

Aida’s full concentration was on her arm, closing up the wound to add another scar to her skin. Thankfully the harsh marks never lasted long, only if the wound was horrible. She had a few of those but her clothing hid them. They were now nothing like a normal human, like Bekka would have to carry. Shaking her head a little she lifted her green eyes once from her arm to the other woman, noticing how she was looking around Aida continued to tend to her wound. Making sure that it looked good before setting the knife down at her feet and finally relaxing.
She had used this place a few different times. There were a few more hidden exits, but Aida would know if someone was approaching them. She would be able to hear them before they got close and send Bekka on her way to safety. It had been a long time since anything had tried that with her and she wasn’t hoping anything would be that brave this evening. Even if with the small trail of blood she hoped the dead things around the building would help cover their scents. Nothing worth worrying about, she lived by taking things as they came her way then dealing with the consequences then.
Asking her question she gave the woman a few moments to think if she wanted to answer it. Aida wasn’t going to try and pry information from those that didn’t want to talk. Pasts or pretty much the present time could be a pain enough. One couldn’t run from their past forever but Aida was sure trying to keep one being that she wasn’t sure where he fit out of her life for good. Her thoughts returned quickly to the here and now as Bekka spoke. Her brow furrowed at the mention of someone, something setting her place on fire. Obviously they wanted her out in the open, but for a purpose she didn’t know and would probably never find out either. Shaking her head a little the braids slid along her back.
“No where is truly safe Bekka. The woods could have given you a bit of cover but never for long.” She paused and picked up the blade, it was cool now to the touch and she tossed it around thinking a few seconds before continuing. “I am taking a guess at you stayed at that house for awhile now? A word of advice is to not stay anywhere to long unless you find the underground.” That was about all the advice she could give her on that.
The blade stilled in her hand when Bekka asked where she was going. Smiling she looked up from the weapon and shrugged her shoulders. “Honestly, I am not heading anywhere. I go and keep going.” She paused to lick her bottom lip and made a slight face before continuing. “I don’t’ stay anywhere to long but tend to revisit places more than once.”
Slowly allowing herself to relax a bit more she actually sat down on the old cement, stretching her legs out and crossing her booted feet at the ankles. Watching the other woman move around she chuckled at her comment and nodded her head. “Yes, it can be annoying but I would take pins and needs over fangs and claws any day.” Aida left it at that, it was the way she chose to live. She could pretend to be normal and innocent and not care about the happenings of this place but she did care more than she would admit out loud.
