Hiro wasn't a big fan of night patrols. They where dangerous and they kept him from his family. He didn't like leaving his girls at night. Some innate fear a vampire would up and take them away from him. Crazy no reason for the fear but it was there.
Moving like a half-breed he favored closer to his Lycanthropic parentage then he did his human parentage when he was on patrol. Staying low to the ground he more crawled then walked if he wanted to he could run on four legs just as well as he could on 2. It was a benefit. It was almost like he had extra muscles that humans didn't and he knew when he thought that he wasn't to far off.
He was the only member of patrol that was allowed to go out on his own. It was because of what he was and how much harder it was to kill him that this was even thought of. Also he had asked for it. He happened to go into rages when it came to fighting other people. He didn't want to hurt one of his people on accident when it happened.
Moving across an open plaza near the hospital he couldn't help but feel like he was being watched.

Val had been out, exploring and hunting for some more clothing. Well other things that she could make into clothing. Having been fighting with her brother she ended up shredding two of her outfits, ones that she used the scraps for the skirt she had on now. Strips of light tan, black and a few pastel colors fell to just below her knees. Her shirt was a small tied corset, black with tan ties. Her stomach showed but showing skin meant nothing to her. What looked like slippers covered her feet as she padded silently around the old shopping plaza, finding it to be pretty much cleaned out.
The last store she slipped in through a broken window and found exactly what she wanted in the end. Opening the flap of her bag she felt like a young kid in a candy store. A few of the shirts and pants were her size and those that weren’t she could cut and make them into what she wanted. After cleaning the place out she looked up to see the sun setting. Cursing under her breath she moved quickly jumping out of the window. Looking around she sniffed the air not catching anything out of the ordinary she started to walk through the plaza before hearing footsteps. Turning on her toes she moved quickly and pressed herself up against the one building. Peeking out around the corner not sure who or what she could bump into out this late.

"Yeah, sure there are humans down here." Ciannait mumbled as she walked along. It had been two days since she'd feed and she was starting to grow weak. She had left her home tonight with the desire to find something to feed from. Although shed prefer a human, she would be happy just to find a deer. That would give her another day, day and a half at least. Walking down the street that had cleared at dark because aparently it was believed to be safer inside at night, she reached out in search of nurishment.
As she walked along the desolate path that had once been a road leading down into the plaza, she watched for movement and waited to spot something, anything. Anything but a dragon that is. She did not want to fight tonight. Peeking above the tree line were the tops of the buildings that had once been a busy place. The hospital and a few stores were a well inhabitated place at once. There had been a large fountain where children had thrown pennies, even at night when the water was lit up with colors, wishing for a new bike or perhaps a puppy. Those times were gone now, the ivy had begun to crack the walls of the buildings and the roofs had begun to sag in.
As she reached the intersection that took her in to the plaza Ciannait stopped dead in her tracks. Scooting over to take cover from a near by tree she watched. She could feel something near, the blood lust begging her to run toward whatever it was, but she just stood waiting for whatever was out to appear.

Hiro couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching him. He got as close to the ground as he could trying to get rid of the feeling of eyes prying into the back of his head. He couldn't see anything but he knew... He really knew something was out there. He weighed his options... Should he run for cover or should he try and take a stand in the open?
He made his decision and in a split second he jumped up and bolted for the other side of the plaza. Angling for a broken window of a store he smelt something in the last second that sent him for a loop. It smelt like him... In a more powerful way. Diving through he couldn't help but roll behind the short wall.
He knew now that there was something out there.
(To clarify he is in the store that Val just left.)

She had moved quietly and swiftly to the side of the building. Pressing herself against it she rested her head back against the cracking bricks as she calmed her self, steadying the rhythm of her heart. Peeking around the side of the building she saw a male run and then dive into the store that she had just been in. Letting out a startled gasp she pressed herself back against the wall as the scent of lion caused her nose to twitch. It wasn't as strong or familiar as that of her family it was different.
Looking back out into the night she let out a sigh not seeing anything and turned back, spinning around the corner of the building as she darted back to the shop still clutching her bag. Looking at the male she stayed crouched down. Dark brown eyes looked up at him as she could tell he wasn't so much a hunter but one of the many that patrolled and attempted to keep this area safe. "You smell familiar but not really..." she said softly to him as she stood up pressing herself against the wall not liking putting her back up against a window that was already broken and open to the night.

Ciannait stood hidden for what seemed like hours before she saw any movement. When at last she did, she was surprised that there were two moving shadows. The first one darted across the plaza into a building that she guess at one point in time must have been a store of some sort. The other shadow followed a few moments later from another area, this one much closer. Now that her interest was peeked Ciannait began to move forward. Withdrawing her dirk she hopped from the shelter of a bush to a crubling brick wall. They moved to fast to be humans and as Ciannait approched she could tell why. They were shifters, both of them, she could sense it.
Ciannait moved to the side of the building and crouched under the row of front shop windows. She could hear talking as she began to crawl toward the door. Over the cove that held the entrance to the store Ciannait could barely make out a sign. She didn’t recognize the name but decided it must have been some sort of clothing store. Peering around the corner of the cove she saw the glass of the entance was shattered. Dirk drawn, Ciannait rushed inside, not intending to hurt either of the shifters but wanting to deter any thoughts of an attack on herself.

He had mis-calculated where he was going to land and hit a rack upon entry. Not one of his greatest moves but it didn't hurt as much as he thought it should. Hiro just couldn't wrap his head around the smell. He knew he had smelt it before and he tried Really, really hard to figure out where he could have smelt it before. Then it hit him. His dad had smelt similar. Actually it was very close. So whoever had been in here recently was a pure Lion. He didn't know whether to be happy or what but he didn't have time to make up his mind as another figure bolted in through the window. He knew it, Someone had been watching him.
Crouching down he backed away until his back hit a rack. He really didn't want to fight for he knew it was a female and he knew she was probably stronger and faster then him. But he would fight to win if he had to. He just really hoped it wasn't necessary.
"You smell familiar but not really..."
What was he supposed to say to that... He wasn't sure. "You smell like my father." It was the first thing to pop in his mind before yet another person flooded into the building. All he saw was the glint of metal before he let out a low growl. Of course... Just his luck he gets two crazy chicks and it was just the start of his patrol. It looked to be a fairly large dagger something you don't see every day especially when the business end is pointed in your direction. He could feel it coming to the surface and he embraced it letting his fingers grown and change into the claws he knew lay right under the surface. His teeth changed next and he knew in a matter of seconds that he was ready.

She just blinked at the male when he said that she smelled like his father. Well, what about his mother? Then it clicked, he was one of the halfbreed's she had heard rumors about. Valdis had always thought they existed. It would a silly thing for people to talk about if they didn't. Shaking her head she was gonna reply with something along the lines of that is interesting when another female entered the store.
Her nostrils flared at the scent of the woman before she spotted the glint of metal. Growling she moved closer to the male. "What do you want Vampire" she growled dropping her bag and let her body shift into her hybrid form. she was no where near strong enough to shift into a full lion. Staying crouched down beside the male her eyes remained on the vampire as she waited for an answer.
Valdis wasn't the strongest shifter but she knew how to protect herself and get away from danger. If the woman wouldn't have came in with her weapon ready then maybe she wouldn't have acted to brashly but then again Valdis wanted to keep her blood in her veins.

After entering the store, Ciannait came to a sudden hault. She could tell now she was interupting something of sorts but didnt care to expand on that discovery as she watched the male change. He didnt fully shift which confused her. Narrowing her eyes and cocking her head she wondered for the barest moment before she heard the female speak forcing her attention.
Ciannait started as she watched the female, who had just ask a question, shift. She was not accustomed to being in a shifters presence. Wondering how she was going to answer the question, Ciannait stalled for time and attempted a piece offering. Slowing she replaced the dirk in its hoster at her waist, even though it would take but a spit second to retrieve it should either creature decided to attack. What could she say, 'I was just looking for a bit of fresh meat' wouldnt go over to well by her guess. "I was out hunting and saw your shadows move into this building. I mean you no harm, but was not about to put myself in an unknow situation unprepared." Ciannait noded toward her dirk as she finished talking.
Taking her eyes off the female for the first time since she shifted Ciannait was able to turn her attention back at the male. Looking at him now she relized why he did not shift fully. Her eyes widened at the discovery. He was a halfbreed. Ciannait had heard of these creatures, part shifter part human, but had never incountered one personally before. The slight thrill at something new shown on her face in a crooked smile. Looking back at the female Ciannait wondered if they knew each other. By the looks of things when she had encroached on them, she would guess not.
They both seemed fairly young, early 20's by her guess. That age seemed so distant to her. To her it was age of innocence that she'd lost, what felt like, aeons ago. Ciannait felt a twinge of pitty for them for having to grow up in the world of today, never getting to experience everything the world had once been. Electricity, that was one thing she missed most of all. As the thought came to her she mentally tucked it away so she could focus on the two shifters positioned infront of her.

Hiro moved to the side putting some distance between him and the other lion. He wasn't looking forward to fighting on two fronts but he would if he had to. He heard the other lion say something that pricked his ears and sent a shiver down his spine. Vampire. Not something you want to meet in the dark no matter if you are a half-breed or not. He may be stronger and faster then regular humans but he was still no match for either of the others in the room.
A slow growl trickled from his throat as he watched the two of them. It seemed to him the vampire didn't know what to make of him. It was odd but then he remembered something his father had told him. Half-Breeds where not all that usual. He stopped growling when she put the dagger back but wasn't going to shift back. You never know when someone is going to go nutty.
"I understand your hesitation and thank you for putting your weapon away." He said his voice deeper then it was before. The little tweaks he could make to his being caused that and some extra hair to sprout here and there. Looking at the shifter though he realized he would probably never be able to do that. He was almost jealous. He peeled his eyes away from her just in time to see the vampire almost weighing him out. A crooked smile past her face and it made him uncomfortable. Very Very Uncomfortable.

She noticed how the male took a few steps away from her as she approached. Smirking she never found herself a threat to anyone, but then she grew up with a decent number of men. Tagging along with her brother and his friends forever hadn't helped to much on the guys are big, bad and scary thing. It was never her intention to make him cautious about her. The other person that entered the room caught her one off guard and two upset her. She didnt like vampires and had met a few in back allies and main streets she never wanted to think about again.
Val shifted into the only form that she had and remained croutched on the ground. It made her height not so intimidating to the male that was beside her. She saw the partial shifting that he had done and could almost sense the beast within him. It was different, almost odd feeling but still there. Her tail whipped beside her and and the halfbreed as the vampire sheathed her dirk. Growling Valdis nails scrapped off the floor of the building. Still not trusting the vampire.
At her words she snorted and leaned back on her feet a bit more, ready to move quickly if needed. "Hunting.. hunting us most likely as we have fresh blood in our veins." shaking her head she noticed the look that the female vampire was giving the male and the look he was giving her back . Her tail smacked him in the back of his calf half accidentally and partially to get him to snap out of it. "What are you staring at, we aren't your food" she growled.

Ciannait’s smile faded as she realized she was making the half breed uncomfortable. This was not her intent, she had nothing against the male, nothing but the fact that the blood lust that coursed over and through her body made him look very appetizing. She diverted her eyes to take a quick look around the room they were in to regather her thoughts. Her attention was drawn to other female in the room as she growl. Cian listened to the lioness as she verbalized her disagreements to Cian’s peace offering.
Sighing, she had to force herself not to lash back at the viperous female. Here she was trying to keep her blood lust under control with two creatures that could be potential meals in front of her and the female was baiting her! She had no desire to force either of them to be her meal for the night. But the females declaration was the last straw and had a low hiss growing in her throat in response. As the hiss formed into a growl and was released from her throat, Ciannait’s eyes flared and she bared her now elongated fangs. The females audacity was infuriating. “I am civilized” making the exception of her actions toward dragons in her mind. “I do not feed from the unwilling.” Her eyes narrowed as she added “However, do not tempt me to make you the exception.”
Her anger was only feeding her blood lust. Her body almost ached from the need. If she did not find some blood soon and the female kept this up, she may juenactact the threat she had only a second ago established.

He couldn't help but watch the Vampire. He knew what they could do. He knew what they where and it didn't scare him. What scared him more was the fact he was a half breed. Half Breeds where hunted for food. That scared him.
Feeling the brush of the lycans tale he couldn't help but want to stomp on it. He was about to freak out and let himself go to the rage. He didn't like being in a store where he had no room to move if something happened.
"If you want food you can feed from me." He said resigning himself to his fate. She would over power him or she would kill him and take his blood. She was a vampire... He was only a half breed. The best hope he had was to go along with it or die.

It took alot for Valdis to remain where she was and not toss the male behind her protectively. It took alot for a half breed to show themselves for what they really are, but for him to show himself infront of the vampire she thought he had guts. At the females word she huffed as her fur bristled. "Civilized" she repeated but didn't back off like she should have, but also didn't advance at the vampire. Weapon or not she knew that a vampires fangs could cause enough damage. "You wont get to far" was her response at being made an exception to. "That would make you not very civilized and then like everyother blood sucker in the city*
Valdis was completelys stunned with the halfbreed offered himself to the vampire to feed from. Freezing where she was she looked down at him and glared. "Are you out of your mind Leone?" she asked him. Her bright feline eyes looking at him and then the vampire. "You can't do that" she growled deeply from her throat.
She wasn't the strongers shifter but she wasn't weak either. One thing she couldn't stand to see was anyone just give into the vampires. The leeches had enough already and with their numbers falling they could stay that way and let everyone else try to survive. Shaking her head she looked at the half breed leone then the vampiress who was still blocking the window they all entered through.

Feeling uneasy with her back to an open door and window, Ciannait began taking slow, sure steps along the side wall of what remained of the store. She scofed as she listened to the lioness debate civility with her, only to stop in midstep as the halfbreed all but offered himself upto her on a silver plater. She could sence his air of disheartenment which made any thoughts of taking advantage of his offer leave her mind. After a moment of pause, Ciannait tilted her head to the side and allowed a slight chuckle to slip from her lips. Sobering quickly and masking all emotion, she simply noded once and procedded her slow walk along the wall to the back of the room. Tracing a hand along the wall as she made her way she spoke to the half breed without a glance. “So foolish, young lion. Offering yourself up to a creature such as myself. Even after I told you I mean you no harm.” Shaking her head as she paused in her stride once more to look over at the male, “Tisk. Tisk. You will not survive long like that.”
Only a few steps away from where the side wall mets the back wall, Ciannait continued her movement once more, her voice now directed at both of the creatures. “I ment it when I said I do not feed from the unwilling, but if provoked I do bite back.” Turning around at the back of the room Ciannait looked the female died in the eyes to drive her point.
Still seeing the unease and not wishing to be the one to provoke anything, she began walking back toward the front of the store on a sigh. As she reached the point where she had entered only a few minutes past she turned to look at the halfbreed and spoke with a slight sadness and sincerity. “Listen to the lioness and NEVER agree to put yourself in such a situation so rashly without knowing all the consiquences. Not everything you come into contact with will have as great a control over their actions as I do and would gladly take you up on your illadvised offer.”
Ciannait turned her head to pin the female with her gaze. “Currently I am not your enemy. Do not make yourself mine. You will not enjoy the results.” Without speeking another word, she turned her back to the lions, took one step outside, and took a deep breath of the night air.
