Atlantic City; polluted, crime ridden, decadent, a cesspool where lost souls can lose themselves in all manner of vice and debauchery, and very often those souls never left. It was the Roach Motel™ of the wayward, the unwanted, and the undesirable. It was the perfect place to hide out for a time. Sure, danger lurked at every street corner, but that was Jersey for you. There were also a number of casinos still in operation, which was what had attracted Frank in the first place; easy money. Of course, making easy money meant using his Tee-Kay, and that meant a chance of getting spotted by Division Scanners. He made his cash, purchased an old racing bike, and got out of Jersey in a hurry. It helped that the local Syndicate didn’t like him either, so there was even less reason to put down roots than usual. Pennsylvania looked good; intelligence he’d once read said that the entire state had fallen under the protection of a publicly known Dragon King.
The Ducati Streetfighter carried him swiftly towards the larger state, known for chocolate and coal mines, if he recalled correctly. He stopped only for gas, and paid in cash, keeping his helmet on most of the time. By the time he arrived in Pittsburgh, his money was nearly gone, and he was damned tired of having a 175 mile-per-hour Beast between his legs. It had bee fun for the first couple of hours, after that, he thought he be stuck in the riding position for the rest of his life. Frank slowed his approach and entered town without being stopped. Some places had gates and checkpoints, meant to keep wandering riff-raff out, but this one was open – and almost normal – except for all the emptiness. That made it kind of creepy, but not really a worry for him. Frank rode on, noticing a figure in the distance, walking amongst smoke or dust, but he shrugged and rode on – he wasn’t interested in whoever made a living this far out. He needed a job and shelter, and he doubted he’d find the former in one day.
Frank tooled around the City until he came to Kenny Wood. He looked up at the cockeyed sign, and reached into the case at his belt. It was a standard GPS system, but it was one he’d stolen from a Division Operative; it was untraceable, so long as he remembered to keep the actual GPS chip offline. It had stored in it an atlas of the world, down to the street and neighborhood levels, with the most recent pollution, crime, and safety numbers. Kenny Wood was something of a mix, as the notes in the device claimed it was both trading post and refugee camp, mostly for locally unaligned humans and shifters. Frank was sure he could get lost in there. He carefully secured anything hi-tech he had on his person, and zipped his pack up tight, adding the lock that he didn’t have a key for – the key was the Power in his mind. “Alright, Frankie, time to be both charming and nondescript.”
He rode into the old Theme Park, and found an empty space to chain his bike up. Frank pulled over a twisted roller coaster girder, after making sure there was no eyes son him, and locked the girder to the rear wheel of his bike. He could always abandon the thing, but it was his for now, so he might as well show that he valued it. Frank shoved his hands in the pocket of his grey hoodie, and began to walk around the Park, looking to meet a few people and see what he could learn about the place, before he tried to look for shelter of his own. He liked to know what to expect, before he tried to get some sleep.

Hmm, a theme park. Seemed interesting enough. It was something she could do anyways. Her life seemed a little boring and it didn’t seemed to have a purpose. But she didn’t care, she enjoyed herself just wandering around the broken city. Seeing new things and meeting new people. It didn’t matter to her if they were of the same origin as her. As long as it didn’t get violent and the new faces weren’t hostile. It wasn’t like she couldn’t defend herself because she could quiet well actually, its just that she couldn’t really be bothered these days with such things.
Her attire, well it was simple but nice. A tight fitting black shirt and a pair out skin tight jeans and a pair of her chunkiest boots she owned. Oh how she loved them so. She wore no jacket as it was quiet pleasant out and didn’t feel the need of an unwanted burden. Her hair was in a pony tail but it was still wavy in its elastic. She was extremely comfortable in what she wore she never felt she was under or over dressed. Why would she when her surrounds were what they were? Pity they weren’t beautiful any more it would present her with a fashion challenge.
At the present time she was balancing herself with great ease along a broken hand rail. It was fun and amusing for her and she didn’t mind that she didn’t have any company. But she would never say no to a new face. The sky was clear and a million tiny stars burned brightly in the sky. She had always had a thing for the sky. It was soothing in any condition. She liked looking at all the different constellations in the sky, even though she had no idea of what half of them were, most of the time she just made them up, giving them a new name. Who could stop her, right?
The sound of a roaring engine in the distance made her stop in her tracks. She balanced perfectly as her enhanced hearing did its thing. From the sound it made she could tell that it was a motorcycle, nice. The sound was cut from her ears as the motor was killed. She sighed and jumped down from the railing and lent her body against it, not applying much weigh as it wasn’t that stable and someone in there right might wouldn’t be walking on it in the first place. But like a lot of people and immortals these days she wasn’t completely in her right mind.
Andy folded her arms over her chest and closed her eyes as she took a deep breath in. Her amazing sense of smell hard a work. The scent that accompanied the motorbike was faint and she couldn’t be one hundred per cent sure what it was. It was a little confusing, it came across as human but there was something else there as well. Hmm, interesting. The scent then started to move like its owner was walking around. Maybe if she walked around too just maybe they accidentally bump into each other and then just maybe she would make a new friend, maybe.
With that thought she took off at a slow pace, following the scent but not directly she didn’t want to make it look like she was running directly to the strange, that was just so not her style. Her boots where light on the ground and made no sound at all when she took each step. She slipped her fingers into the pockets of her jeans as she walked it was kinda a habit that she wasn’t prepared to shake just yet. She had to have her hands inside of a pocket, whether it be her jeans pockets of the pockets on her many coats that she owned. Weird yes, shameful no.
As she walked she could take in the scent of the stranger more clearly, it was definitely human but it was a strange scent, even for a human. It didn’t even spark that unforgettable feeling she got when she was hungry. Something them caught her eye and she stopped. Was it the human? She slipped behind a broken children’s ride and poked her head out from behind. It was…Him. Wait why was she hiding? Shaking the thought she stepped out from behind her guard and continued to walk towards the human but a the slowest pace she could muster.

Frank lifted the front of his hoodie and shook his head as he shook it. He smelled like a motorcycle garage, and maybe a little like cordite and gun oil. None of that could be helped, but he didn’t like how obvious it would be to anyone with enhanced senses which bike was his, and that he was likely armed. It wasn’t unusual to go armed, in fact, in his situation; it would have seemed strange for him not to have something as he traveled from city to city. Traveling these days was more like moving from medieval fief to medieval fief, than ever before. Ironically, it was also more Constitutional, as States had started to take more control of things themselves. Pennsylvania, for example, fell under the protection of a Dragon King, Massachusetts was a Commonwealth of various Species, and what little Government was left had other concerns. The Division was struggling for its own piece of the pie, no matter what they claimed. Frank found what looked like a trading post, and walked in under the crooked Wipe-Out sign, to see if there was anything edible in the place; non-perishables were best.
He got a few suspicious looks, as he expected, he was a new face, but then eyes shifted from him to someone quietly approaching the trading post. Frank turned slightly, and saw her coming out of the corner of his eyes; looking without seeming to look. She was cleaned up, rather attractive, but too put together to be a refugee. What was she doing here? Frank took a moment to ‘listen’ to the way things were around him, and she didn’t set off any immediate alarm bells, but there was something. For the moment though, he would just flag her as ‘out of place’, but she wasn’t Division; they never sent one. Frank continued to shop around, trading hard currency – actual gold coins, new minted for the Atlantic City casinos – for a two cans of chili and one MRE; with luck, the MRE would have a small piece of Hershey’s chocolate. He remembered that being a bit like hitting the lottery when one was on a stake-out.
When the woman drew near, Frank’s trading was done, so he had to walk by her. He smiled as he approached, and gave her a nod. “Nice night, huh? I mean, all things considered.” There was a fair chance she wasn’t entirely Human, as the simple truth was, there weren’t as many humans as their used to be, and everything was mixing up a bit. She wasn’t a Dragon, so that was too the good, she could be a Shifter or even a Vampire, but he couldn’t be sure without more time to focus. “Pardon my saying so, but you should be careful – you’re lookin’ a bit too good to not be askin’ for trouble around here.”

Andy continued to walk at the same speed and as she got closer and closer more scents entered her nose. And she couldn’t help but frown at what it was she was smelling. Engine grease and gun oil. It got really strong as she got closer to the human. It then clicked to her that it was those things that where clouding her judgement about whether or not he was just a human. Then she then realised where he was. And she instantly felt awful, then familiar scents then started to hit her nasal passages. She was definitely a horrible person a horrible immortal.
She was so caught up in meeting new faces, that she forgot about the old ones, that she already knew. The refugees that found shelter in this place. She had come here a while back and stumbled across the group of frightened people and provided her hunting skills as a way for them to acquire some food. Andy brought clean water from her home to them. She was like their saviour and know she had neglected them. She bit the inside of her lips and thought about how she could make it right. Snap out of it! You’re a vampire, not god. She shivered at the thought.
She was so deep in thought she didn’t realise that the man was once again walking towards her. Taking her own advice she snapped out of the reverie that had momentarily taken over her whole world for a brief moment. As the man got closer she could really smelt the grease and oil on his skin and it was strong enough to made her scrunch up her nose. She normally wasn’t up herself like that but it was just to strong for her nose to handle. She had to do something or otherwise this new face wasn’t going to be around long enough to become a friend.
The mans words then hit her ears and she tried to speak in response but all that left her lips was a small hiss. Great now he was going to think she was a crazy. She immediately closed her eyes and focused all her energy on her sense of smell and finally after a second or two the smell of engine and gun was gone. She had temporarily turned of her sense of smell. As now she was unaware of anything new that might come there way but it was alright no big deal. She regained focus just in time to her his last words,. Hmm they made her grin slightly.
“Firstly I have to agree with you about the night being nice” She said walking a little closer to the human. He was very good looking for a human and she couldn’t stop grinning at the fact that he looked like he has just finished rolling around under the hood of a car. It was actually kind of cute in a way. Hmm, she really had to respond to his last statement. He clearly didn’t know what she was or what she was capable of but she couldn’t really expect much more coming from a dirty, smelly, cute human.
“Secondly Sir, I've lived in this town for a long time, just because I look fragile doesn’t mean I am. Trust me there is no one in this theme park that could cause any trouble, except maybe you” She said meaning the refugees and the people of the trade, if it hadn’t been for her they probably wouldn’t have been alive right now and they would dare start trouble with her as they would surely loose. Sad but true. She pulled her hands out of her pants pockets and crossed her arms over her chest a smile on her face. She was being as friendly as she could possibly be.

Frank smiled slightly when she agreed with him about the quality of the evening. It was small things sometimes, but as he had said, all things considered, it really was a nice night. She was grinning at him, and he couldn’t quite get why, but he smiled in returned, and kept in mind that she might be a great deal more than what she seemed, or Frank was sure she’d have been robbed or mugged or worse by now. He tilted his head at the rest of her reply, “One doesn’t need to be fragile to have a gang of the wrong kind of people decide they look like their kind of victim.” Frank laughed quietly, “Why would I be more trouble to you than some of these other folks?”
He smiled a bit, “And my name is Frank. You keep callin’ me ‘Sir’ I’m going to think I’m in trouble.” He slid his pack around, and tucked his purchases into one of the pockets, working the bulky cans into the space. “You have to admit, you don’t fit in. So what does bring you around here?” Frank shook a can of beans, “I know its not the fine cuisine.”

Andy smiled at his words. He managed then very well and she was surprised as she wasn’t expecting him to display such intelligence. But you can never judge someone by there appearance. She was now being to believe that he was a very smart man. It was rare these days to find someone with the slightest ounce of decent intellect. But she could clearly see that he hadn’t figured out that she wasn’t like him. Not his fault of course. Not many people these days can tell such things just by looking at her. It was something she wasn’t going to hold against him.
“I do believe that’s true, but what if the victim is more deadly then that of the gang?” She asked maybe pushing a hint off to him that she wasn’t exactly normal as it were. She smiled at his next words. He was probably the most dangerous person here other then her here. He probably wouldn’t be much of a threat to her but he was definitely some sort of a threat. The others here, didn’t have anything on her and they shouldn’t have any reason to want to harm her, not after everything she has done for them anyways.
“Good question. Well for one you are a stranger to me. The people here I happen to know quiet well as tonights visit to Kenny Woods isn’t my first” She explained, knowing that the people here were harmless, well towards her anyway. Even if they weren’t friendly they probably would have much of a time trying to over throw her. She smiled as he introduced himself as Frank. She bit the inside of her mouth as he commented on her calling him Sir. It was a bad habit that she couldn’t seem to get rid off.
Ah, sorry about that… Frank. Bad habit, it was a common thing in my day” She said yet another hint was thrown at him. It wasn’t very often that a Vampire was so open in letting ones origin known but she wasn’t like other vampires she was happy not worrying about what others thought and if it cause trouble for her then she would deal with it like she was taught to all those years ago. She looked quickly over his shoulder at the people that where behind him going about there business and smiled. They were good people, just unfortunate.

Frank tilted his head again. He didn’t know very many people that spoke that way, especially not women that looked like her. He looked her up and down, focusing slightly, ‘listening’ to her atomic signature. He was silent as he did this, and though his hands moved his pack around and back to his shoulders. He adjusted the straps, and his eyes lifted to hers. “Then I’d say you don’t need my friendly warning.” Frank smiled, and took a breath as he finished sensing her out; her frequency didn’t fall into the standard range, so – she was a shifter, a half-breed, or possibly a Vampire.
“I s’pose seeing every stranger as dangerous is a fair policy these days.” He looked around, and while some were glancing her way, none of the looks seemed predatory. Perhaps they were used to her, generally though, slumming was never really looked kindly on in these sorts of places. “Which day would that be? It’s overly polite, and unnecessary. I’m surprise anyone has any manners at all, not that I have many myself.” Frank thought she was dropping the hints pretty heavily that she was more than she seemed, so he took a step back. “Vampire then?” He met her eyes, “Was it important that I know. Am I intruding on your territory? Most folks here are not human, but they’re not as put-together as you.”

Andy smiled when he spoke. He was definitely a smart fellow. Judging by what he could have experienced in life she wasn’t surprised that he possessed great common sense. She was no ready to say that he wasn’t going to try and cause her harm. He was a gentleman in her eyes. Something you don’t see very often. But either way she was glad she had met him. The new face was something she was needing. Add some spice into somewhat boring life.
“Maybe not but I appreciated it either way” She said with a small smile. Now that she had been standing there with him for a moment she becoming accustom to the greasy engine smell that was lingering in his aura. She was pushing it away now and was now receiving what was underneath. It was a pleasant human smell. Not a single hint of crazy. Suddenly that familiar pang in her throat. She stiffened and blocked it out.
“Even though new faces are strangers it doesn’t necessarily mean it has to stay that way” She said implying that they didn’t have to stay strangers even though they were clearly of different origins. But it wasn’t a crime holding a friendship with a human if you were Vampiric. Well she didn’t think there was a law against it. But come to think about she didn’t think there was much law left these days.
“That day was 1300 and something I believe, old habits die hard as some would say” She replied that he didn’t seem freaked out that she was a Vampire. But hey there were plenty around these days so being surprised when you run into one casually didn’t really make you gasp. Finally he questioned her origin and he was right on target. She bit the inside of her mouth as she thought about his words? Was it necessary that he knew?
“I suppose it wasn’t overly important that you know what I am, but I feel I should be honest” She explained, well she didn’t really like keeping things from her new friends and she wasn’t ashamed of what and who she was and was happy enough for him to know. Its not like she was going to kill him where he stood. She just wasn’t like that. She never understood why she didn’t act like other vampires. Maybe it was just how her maker brought her up.
“I am not like other Vampires. I feel it has something to do with my age and my brain, it’s a little bigger then most others. And no this place is here for everyone. I don’t consider it my territory.” She explained and smiled at the people again, sort of a reassurance thing letting them no all is well with the stranger before them. She brought her eyes back to Frank and cleared her throat. She was wondering what to say to the human. It wasn’t very often she was stumped for words.
“So where are you from?” She asking, saying the first thing that popped into her brain. Usually she was bursting with things to say but there was something about the human before her that erased everything.

Frank smiled at that. It was a rare bit of common gratitude. “Then you’re welcome. World’s a bit too empty to not try to look after the decent one’s that are left.” It was a true sentiment, he tried to help where he could, but his primary motivation was survival. That left little room for niceties, save for the sort he could afford in passing. “Nope. I’ve already given you my name, so we’re at least half-way to not being strangers anymore.” Frank chuckled and shook his head, “You don’t look a day over thirty.” He smiled at the 800-year old woman, checking his surroundings for useful tools, in case things went south. He did so with his Power, never betraying his concerns. “I was told that decent manners were never out of style.”
“Honesty is refreshing.” If she’s telling the truth, of course, Frank’s power couldn’t tell him that. “Good. Then it’s a pleasure to meet you. I don’t meet many Vampires in my travels.” That wasn’t entirely true, he’d met his share, but better to feign as much ignorance as possible. “Lot’s of different places. I travel around mostly. I’ll only be here long enough to get work, make a little money, and move on.” Frank met her eyes briefly, “Where are you from? I mean originally.”

Its not very often the you come across someone that had any care for others in their body these days. It seemed to Andy that they were more a like then they thought. She didn’t see the point in being cruel, being cruel to others only brought on loneliness and no one to love. She hated the thought of living for eternity without a friend or someone to love. She wasn’t even sure if she knew how to love anymore, it has been so long since she tried.
“It’s good to know that there are still some of us left that care” She said and grinned briefly and pricked up her ears for a moment scanning the area for any other presence that might have slipped into the vicinity without her knowing while they were talking. She was only picking up herself, Frank and the harmless that where close by. There was nothing else around. But she kept one ear open just in case. You never know what might come.
“Oh sorry, please forgive my rudeness, My name is Andromeda, Andy for short” She said giving a smile but didn’t hold out her hand for him to shake. She wasn’t sure if shaking hands was considered old fashion these days and she didn’t want to seem like an old bitty. Even thought technically to was. Suddenly a compliment. She beamed. She was glad that she didn’t get old and wrinkly with age she like her youthful self to much.
“Thanks, its always good to hear something like that after so many years of nothingness” She said, she was truly pleased by his comment and she almost felt on top of the world. But she didn’t let herself get to carried away as she still needed to concentrated on the surrounding area. Just because she ran into one friendly face tonight didn’t mean it was going to happen a second time. She needed to be prepared and aware of everything. She hated surprises.
She was glad that he enjoyed her honesty, at least being honest wasn’t old fashioned and it was still a strong element of today. It wasn’t often that you met someone that wasn’t conniving and full of lies. Her feelings towards their meeting was the same as him. She loved meeting new people and creating friendships and allies. She bit the inside of her lip as he explained about his plans here. She was a little disappointed that he was leaving, but happy cause it wasn’t straight away. He asked her where she was from originally. She had to think for a moment.
“I’m originally from LeFlore Oklahoma, but that was a very long time ago. I moved around a lot when I was turned and have never been back there since. I was thinking about it but never go around to it” She explained and gave a small smile. Oklahoma was her home but she never really wanted to go there again. Too many bad memories and even more good ones. She wouldn’t be able to face the nightmares that where her past. She looked towards Frank again and smiled.
“Um, would you like to go for a walk? That’s if you don’t have any other plans of course” She asked slipping her hands into her jeans pockets.

Frank didn’t quite know what to make of this Vampire. She didn’t behave like any of the others he had met, but at least a couple of those had been part of Mission agendas, and he didn’t exactly circulate in the best parts of any town. He wasn’t sure of she was genuine, or if this was her hunting strategy. Frank had the means and the knowledge to handle himself, but he’d hate to have to do so very early in his arrival to the place; it risked being Scanned by the Division. “More people than you’d think.” He’d found some kindness on the road. “I’ve heard the Dragon that runs this place isn’t so bad.” Frank glanced around, “Not that I can tell from here.”
He shook his head, “No worries. I just didn’t want to resort to say ‘Hey You’, in the middle of our conversation.” Frank smiled slightly, and met her eyes for a moment, before adjusting the straps of his pack. “Andy it is then. Andromeda was pretty old fashioned even for your time.” He shook his head and laughed quietly, “You’re welcome. I don’t meet very many pretty women that aren’t aware that they are, even Vampires.” Frank tilted his head slightly, “What do you mean ‘years of nothingness’? Were you sleeping or something? That happens, right, you sleep for years sometimes?”
Frank’s brow furrowed for a moment, and he ran his hand over his short hair. He scratched at his beard, and his bright blue eyes looked her over once again. “Uh, Andy, there was no county Leflore in Oklahoma in the Thirteen-hundreds, in fact, there wasn’t even an Oklahoma. It was part of the Louisiana Purchase in Eighteen-Oh-Three.” He tilted his head, smiling slightly at her fair features, “Unless you’re implying you’re an Amerindian of some kind?”

Andy listened to Frank as he spoke. It definitely sounded like he knew what he was on about. He had probably met more caring people then she did in her days. He then spoke of the dragon. She hadn't actually met the creature herself but she had heard about it often. She sometimes over listens to peoples conversations. Merely for the fact that she doesn't have anyone to talk to herself so she just listens in. She always thought that she shouldn't do such a think but it didn't seem to be hurting anyone nor did people seemed to care. Maybe that was because they didn't know.
"Haven't met the immortal myself, but I've heard good things" She explained feeling a little bad not being about to shed some more light on the topic. But to tell the truth she was a little scared of Dragons. Who wouldn't be, they are huge. She might be strong and all but she would be no match to that of a fully shifted Dragon. She had also never had to pleasure of meeting one that was in human form. Again they still scared her, merely from the fact that it doesn't take much to tick a dragon off. Then poof they are raging and 300 feet tall.
"My parents don't know what they were thinking when they named me, believe me. I could have changed my name but it kind of grew on me" She explained, thinking back to when she was mortal. Memories from those days where very hazy and blotchy. This was be choice thought. She wanted to forget what she left behind when she was changed. she believed it made her a stronger vampire not being dragged down with it all. Terrible things happen that you can help and you got to do whatever you have to do to make it through.
"Yes that is true, i did sleep for a while I'm pretty sure it was like four years or so. Also i have lived along time on my own. I say nothingness because i had no one but me for company, how i stayed sane was a hard job" She explained to his curious question. She wasn't sure if he would understand what she ment but she knew what she was talking about. Well sometimes she believed it. She spent alot of her life confused about so much, just when she got used to something the era would change.
"Hmm, well back when i was mortal was a long time ago and i spent a long time shutting everything out of that time. I can't really remember what it was called but all i know is thats what it ended up being, so i just say that. It's stupid i know but i found it better just to forget, you know?" She explained feeling slightly foolish, not being able to remember what it was her home was called. But she did it for a reason and she didn't have to really worry about it. Except for when she was explaining it to knew faces.
Flashes of her home and family dancing upon her thoughts. She wasn't sure what exactly they were but she knew that it was her home back then. She didn't want to be thinking about this right now, not when she had company anyway, so she pushed the thoughts away and concentrated on Frank. She needed a new topic and soon. She didn't want to cut their conversation short just because she wanted to think about things that she spent her life trying to block out.

“Immortal? Are they?” Franklin shrugged. It was an area of Preternatural Science he was fuzzy on. The Division said they were functionally Immortal, like magnified Galapagos Turtles – they just live a really, really long time. Vamps on the other hand, were Immortal, though even there The Division called them Limited Immortals, as there were ways to bring them Final Death. There weren’t any ‘silver bullets’ or ‘wooden stakes’ for Dragons, that he was aware of really. “Yeah, probably the same stuff I have. He’s one of the few public ones I’ve heard of.”
“Andromeda is a name out of mythology, and you have a set of stars, that’s not too bad. All I have is one of the more eccentric American Revolutionaries to thank for mine. Mother saved me from being directly named for Ben Franklin at least.” He smiled and gestured, “I’m walking about a bit to see how secure it is here. Then I think I’m having a can of these beans and hitting the sack.” Frank tilted his head as she spoke. There was a term for it, he was certain; torpor? Something like that. Oddly, he’d once heard the same of Dragons, that they could sleep or have long periods of little activity for centuries, and then suddenly explode with action. Frank had been in sensory deprivation a time or three, he knew what loneliness was like. “Yeah, the road isn’t much better. Being completely alone can drive you nuts, but I meet enough new faces to still feel human.” He winced slightly, “Y’know what I mean.?”
Frank didn’t discount Vampires as monsters. He’d seen too much. It wasn’t only Vampires and Shifters that could lose their sense of humanity. “Are you in Kenny Wood often?”

He asked if Dragons were immortal. It got Andy thinking, where they immortal? She had never really thought about it before. Now that she thought about it she wasn’t completely sure if they were. She had never met a Dragon that wasn’t trying to kill her so she never asked if they were. Oh well she liked her theory anything that wasn’t human was immortal to her. She was happy sticking to that idea until she found out differently. Dragons weren’t the ones to got around making themselves known to the world, so finding one that willing to talk to her was slim.
“Hmm, maybe they are maybe they aren’t. Have you ever had the opportunity to ask one? I know I haven’t” She said with a smile and a half amused chuckle. Maybe one day she will meet one that isn’t trying to bite her face off. Frank then commented on her name being originally from mythology. She wasn’t really interested in knowing where it was from but she was aware of the myth origin. It was just a name and it was working alright for her so far.
“Yeah, all I know is that she was sacrificed to some god, but was rescued by a knight in shining armour” She said with a shrug of her shoulder and a half smile. She liked the conversation she was in with Frank. It had been a long time since she had a proper conversation with someone. Excluding the brief talk she had with some of the crazy people in this theme park. Man did they talk about some weird stuff. Most of the time she just smiled and nodded.
“At least you can say you have some legitimate history behind the reason why your parents named you what they did” She responded. She wasn’t going to judge him just because of his name. She was just pleased to know that the new face she had met was friendly enough. For now he was anyway. She was always a little sketchy with humans that smelled funny. She smiled as he spoke about what he had planned to do with the rest of his night.
“Sounds like fun” She said half serious and half sarcastically. She figured anything was more interesting then just being alone. She didn’t know if he would rather do this on his own, and she wouldn’t be offended if he did, after all it wasn’t like they were best friends. She wouldn’t asked if he wanted company as she didn’t want him to feel obligated to say yes. She listened to him speak about being alone can make you a little nuts and she could relate completely.
“Yeah, I do know what you mean, its hard work keeping the crazy monster out” She said bitting the inside of her mouth, it was a habit she did when she was nervous or anxious. It was something she did when she was human and she never really was able to shake the habit. She didn’t really care that she did it, sometimes she didn’t even notice that she was doing it. She listened to his next question and thought about how often it was she was here.
“Nah, not really maybe twice a month I’ll visit just to make sure the peace is still intact” She explained thinking about what it was like here the first time she came there. It was mayhem, no order at all. She helped to keep things under control and straight, but like in every place around here there was always havoc. Nothing you could really do about really. Out of habit she quickly scanned the area just to make sure there wasn’t anything out of the ordinary since they had been talking and there was, it wasn’t something she was expecting. A strange smell and a weird vibe, but it could be nothing so she didn’t make a fuss. It was too early to tell yet.
“So… perhaps I should let you get on with your plans….” She said still on her guard but she had her attention on Frank. She didn’t want to seem rude now.

Frank shook his head, “Nope. Not sure I would even if I did. Asking a Dragon ‘can you die of old age?’ doesn’t seem a terribly healthy way to spend the day.” He smiled, “Well, sort of, yeah, a little more to it than that. Greeks didn’t have knights, but they did have half-god Heroes. I think this one was Zeus’.” He laughed quietly, “Many of them were, as Gods go, he couldn’t keep it in his toga, if you know what I mean.” Frank began to walk along, keeping an eye out for a fire he might be able to borrow for a bit to heat his beans. “It’s not much of a story, but it’s the only one I have.”
He tilted his head at the sarcasm in her tone, “Well, no, its not, but after the ride I’ve had, it’s about all I’ve the energy to do.” That wasn’t entirely true, but he was starting to think getting some shut eye was the best policy. Not even an hour into his time in town, and he’d already run into an old Vampire. That painted poor odds for humanity there, indeed. “Just being around folks doing regular things is helpful.” Frank nodded, “That’s a very noble goal. I didn’t think many of your kind were good Samaritans without expecting some kind of pay off.” He smiled, “Glad to see that the general impression was wrong.”
Frank nodded, “Alright, sorry I’m not more exciting; I just need to tend to my belly, and get some rest. Maybe I’ll be around long enough to see you next time you pass by.” He checked his hand, wiped it on his jeans, and offered her his hand. “Nice to meet you, Andy.”
