As time goes by, the quality of entertainment seems to get lower and lower. Musicians, actors, movies - everything just isn't as good as it used to be. Talent seems to get scarcer and scarcer as the stars that shaped the industry pass on – and the next generations can hardly live up to their name. As the 22nd century rolled around, the entertainment business just isn’t what it used to be, and isn’t making as much money as it used to – and seeing as how entertainment is one of the things that keeps the worldwide economy flowing, this was a large problem.
So, in the year 2107 - after a successful way to clone people has been invented - someone in the entertainment industry has a great idea. Why not clone some of the most talented people of all time? The celebrities, musicians, and entertainers of the 20th and 21st century. And so, after support from the government and other various funds, they do it. Entertainers that have long been dead are back - just as they were. The clones are exact copies, they have the skills and talents of the originals, the memories, the personality - everything.
However, they were only made to entertain - they are kept on a tight leash by the government and scientists who created them - their sole reason for being is to make money. Some who long for freedom start to rebel, and are simply killed - another clone can be easily made in their place. Not to mention the present day entertainers, the ones that are all natural, are sick of being stepped on and pushed down by these clones - and then there are the people who think that cloning is an abomination, and protest against it.
The mass population of the world, though, is enjoying every second of it. Actors that have been dead for more than a hundred years are making movies and appearances, musicians that have passed on are giving concerts and producing records – and they are making even more money than ever. The United States, being the forerunner in this business as they were the ones that discovered the perfect method for cloning, has become an even bigger economic power – causing other countries to grow wary. China, Russia, and England have managed to get ahold of the cloning technology and have begun to do it with their celebrities – which caused the USA to raise hell with them, claiming they stole it.
All in all, what seemed to be one of the greatest things to happen to this world, is slowly backfiring. Will the cloning continue, or will it be stopped due the problems it is causing? What will happen to the clones that don’t want to do what they were made to? Will the ‘normal’ celebrities try to get rid of the ‘imposters’? That is up to you.
