The year is 2100, the city is Pittsburgh Pennsylvania...
Years have passed since the humans all but destroyed their own race. Leaving their numbers weak and dwindling. Wars had broken out between countries then they turned on each other. Few survived and the supernatural beings who had remained hidden and unknown watched and waited to see what the outcome would be. Patiently they sat putting an almost halt to their own wars that had been going on for centuries without the humans knowing. A few gifted individuals and lovers or family knew of their war. Others were blind or stupid to it not caring about anything but themselves. That is the story behind the near extinction of their race, selfishness and blindness.
It did not take long for the dragons to rise in power. They are very similar to the animal shifters, only their beast is that of a dragon. Strong and intelligent with very little threats that can harm them it didn’t take long for them to slowly begin to rebuild the destruction the humans left in their path. The vampires on the other hand felt their numbers begin to shrink for the first time in centuries. Weaklings, and those that were newly formed found themselves at times almost starving as their main food source was almost gone. Those that were lucky befriended an animal shifter. They were able to feed off the their rich blood. Ones that were not so lucky turned to feeding off animals. Animal blood is bitter on their tongues and no where near as nourishing as that of a human or a shifter. Some became crazed with hunger while others sought out to find that power and strength they had been so used to.
Vampires were not used to being a lesser species. For years they kept their numbers in check but with how the humans had grown they never had to search for food. Now they stood in the rubble of all that they knew watching the dragons prosper, it caused their blood to boil and an old war began to surface once more. The feud between the two species runs deep and long. Very few know the true origins of their war. Stories on both end have been modified from teller to teller through the years. Now as a new dawn approached both species no one knows who will come out on top.
Dragons are the more dominant species, they are prospering and starting to build a new and better world. Vampires are crumbling, going mad and disappearing with their food source. Animal shifters are caught in the middle of both torn between what they knew in the past and trusting, when they don’t trust others well on a new future. The balance seems to lie in their hands while the remaining humans that survived hide away and watch seeing their nightmares walking in the day and the night. They brought this new world on themselves. The once ruling species of the world is now down to nothing, fighting to survive and not become fully extinct.
It is not known if the humans die then will the vampires go crazy? Will they die off with the humans? Or will they be able to adapt to new blood, a new way of life and continue? It is unknown, only time will tell. There are rumors, secrets and hushed talk that there are half breeds walking around. Half vampire, Half shifter but no half dragons. Is it even possible? No one knows and if there are such beings out there they are not going to let themselves be known so easily, they just might hold the balance of the world in their own hands, the few that they might be could easily tip the scales in eithers favor.
