Since the humans practically obliterated their own race and vampires, shifters, and dragons have reveiled themselves to the few who remain, half breed races have been growing. There are two races of half breeds; half breed vampires and half breed shifters. As of yet, dragons have not been able to successfully cross breed with humans to create a dragon halfbreed. Dragons are still born from eggs kept protected and safe by both their parents. Since humans do not lay eggs young, unmated male dragons turn to human females so not to breed.
Among those living, half breeds are set apart. Considered an abomination by the vampires and regarded with caution by the shifters and dragons, essentially the half breeds are on their own in the world. For now, the shifters are unsure of what to expect from the half breeds and are reguarded with caution. Though the deterioration of the human race, vampires have discovered that a halfbreed shifters blood will sufice for sustenance and perhaps could be the key to saving their own race. The dragon’s desire to rebuild the world allows them to treat the half breed shifters like any other neutral in the on going war. As for the dragons opinion of the half breed vampires, they have none, the half breeds are just as much their oposition as those who are full blooded.
Half breed Vampires
As their human appearance leads half breed vampires are still predominantly human. Even at a young age the sun does not effect them; however, they are stronger at night. They see things very clearly and vividly at night and do not need light to help them see. If the area is truly dark no light at all they need just a flicker to help them see textures but everything is clear. Every sense heightens at night for a half breed vampire, their sense of sight, hearing and smell increase the most. They do remain fast and strong day or night and some are insomniacs.
Like vampires they need a blood for sustenance, though not as much. They still eat normal human food, vegetables, fruits and meats. Often times a halfbreed vampire will be the dominant hunter in a human clan just because of their heightened hunting skills. Since many of them like to remain hidden with how normal vampires are not thrilled of their existence they will use the hunt to get the blood substance of the animal they kill before readying it to return home. Since the numbers of halfbreed vampires are low they do not feed on human blood. It was told to them from their human mothers that they would turn savage like those that hunt the humans with no care. It is not known if any have tried or tasted the blood of the human most are happy with only knowing the taste of animal blood to survive.
The age of a half breed vampire is still unknown, however similar to their pure breed counterpart, they age slowly but are not immortal or pretend to by like the full bloods. They age slow and stay at a certain age for a long period of time. The more injuries and damage a half breed takes to their body the faster they will age. There is no record of how long a half breed can live without dying as they are a newer species and tend to stay hidden not wanting attention drawn to them.

As far as its known, halfbreed shifters have only ever been capable of partial shifts. They do not have the full genetic code of a shifter to shift into true animal form. They do however, have the ability to shift parts of their appearance such as teeth, hands, eyes, etc. but a full shift would require an exceptionally strong and well trained halfbreed. A well trained halfbreed would be one that found the local leaders of this city. Then they would have to be accepted into that clan and then learn and struggle practicing every day to be able to shift. Many still even after all the training do not have the skills or the strength to do such a things. There is no record, no mention of this ever being done though many have tried and failed.
Halfbreeds have heightened senses like the full bloods. They are still exceptionally strong, being able to lift cars easily and crush cement in their hands. Sense of smell, hearing and eyesight are at a match to their full blood relatives. They are still very agile and some even have the great skills of hunting passed through their animal side. Just remember though not every half breed is strong in all areas. they are mixed with humans so not all senses are going to be 100% dead on all the time.
