 Everything you think you know about reality? Forget it. What you know - what you think you know - is only very small fraction of the truth. Are you ready to leave the world you know behind? Humans. The superior species on Earth - and the only intelligent species in existence. Right? Wrong. The truth is, there are beings out there that the average person has no clue even exist. Vampires, shapeshifters, witches, wizards and werecreatures don’t just exist in myths and stories; they’re real creatures.
Sixty years ago a dream was born when one vampire decided it was time for the world to know they were there. He stepped out of the proverbial closet choosing to come out quietly to the President of the United States, and soon others followed in his footsteps.
But the US government had a real problem; they were afraid mass chaos and panic would ensue if the public was to find out the creatures they believed fantasy were real. To prevent those worries, the initial vampire began working with the president and government to come up with a project called “New Hope,” a town which would be built to house a large number of nonhumans and humans alike where they could live in harmony. This was the vampire’s dream; peace among humans and nonhumans, where the nons could receive the rights they deserved instead of hiding their true natures.
The town had a rocky start, but it wasn’t long before the humans who populated New Hope began to accept their supernatural neighbors. Peace lasted among New Hope and it became just that: a new hope for a new future.
But five years later, right before Hew Hope’s government planned to announce their existence to the general outside world, the town’s mayor fell ill. A new mayor was elected upon the death of the previous mayor, but he was a tyrant. Full of hate for anything nonhuman, he soon began to change the laws of the town and how it was run. Convincing his fellow council leaders that the hope of the town was shattered, the nonhumans became merely low class citizens in what would become their new prison. The city was cloaked with magic and harsh laws against the nonhumans were passed.
Present day, 2010. Bounty hunters roam the city to keep the nonhumans at bay. Nicknamed the DEATH (Department of Elite Assassins and Trained Hunters), they bring nonhumans to New Hope, and they lack any mercy upon anyone different. The nonhumans are tired of being put down and treated with scorn and suppressed with harsh laws. Starting out slow, riots, demonstrations, and protests now fill the streets, and the movement is gaining momentum. A resistance has formed to gain control of the town and bring back the peace that was once imagined. Will the nonhumans succeed? Or will they remained suppressed, the humans reigning over them? And will the secret that New Hope holds be revealed to the world? What side will you choose?
